Acid Reflux, Digestive Problems, Fatigue

I have been having health problems for years, but kept plugging along looking for answers and trying new products and new doctors. I had previously had several acupuncture sessions with another doctor and had been thinking of doing acupuncture again when I met Curry and April at Bayshore Mall during Safety Days. Anyway, I took advantage of the free exam and we set up a schedule of appointments and kept plugging away to seek improvement for acid reflux, constipation, and fatigue. At first I thought the results weren’t happening fast enough, but once I could really feel the sensation of feeling better (also in other areas of the body) I’m really happy I stayed with the program. -Donna B.

Pain

I am an active sixty year old woman. I am a retired judo instructor (black belt), retired belly dancer and retired jogger. Retired because of years of pain– leading to a left hip replacement. I now walk 3 miles every morning, and roller blade at least 3 times a week. For the past 2 years , it has been a painful ordeal. I’d have sharp or dull pain in my right hip, pain radiating down my leg to my knee or ankle. Each day became more of a struggle to complete the 3 miles. Into the second week of my acupuncture treatments, I remarked to my walking partner, that we had walked longer then usual. As I walked to my car, I realized that I had NO PAIN. The pain had always determined the end of the walk. Walking every morning has once again become a joy. Thank you so very much, EVERYONE at Acupuncture and Holistic Health Associates!

Digestive Problems

Being a strong Christian, I had my doubts about acupuncture altogether. But desperation drove me to “try one more thing.” Several doctors over several years had no idea why I reported such GI symptoms. I had such severe gas and bloating that I had to carefully time my meals—so as not to offend anyone I needed to be with. My dreams of competing or even training for a marathon were shattered when even a slow job would bring on severe cramping and other unmentionable problems. So, with “raised eyebrows” I agreed to 5 sessions. My symptoms began to fade. I decided to continue. Now, two months later, I can eat when and what I want and my gas problem is just like a bad dream! I’m running again—though I’m out of shape—I have no rectal problems at all! And as a bonus for me, my hot flashes went away. Don’t believe your doctor when he says you are fine, but you know differently. Thanks to Curry—I have a life again! - K. P.

Sinus Problems, Migraines

I suffered almost 15 years with chronic sinusitis, which eventually turned into serious migraines and debilitating teeth pain. After much research and the spiral of Western Medicine, Acupuncture seemed to be the most effective treatment for high success in the treatment and relief of sinusitis. In just two weeks I felt the relief of symptoms and after 2 months my life had been given back to me. Acupuncture has changed the way I experience good health! Thank You! - B. L.

Severe Headaches

I came here in April ’04 with chronic daily headaches and neck stiffness. By June, even though the neck stiffness was getting better I’d just have to learn to live with the headaches. By September, I found myself doing my mental body check and thinking “I don’t have a headache!” Wow! The last three weeks have been relatively headache free—certainly nothing like what I was experiencing in April. I exercise at least five days a week. I take my herbs. I even started reading some books Chinese Traditional Medicine and Nutrition (I’ve certainly eaten more yellow squash this summer than I thought I ever would!). I feel better about going and doing things and looking forward to a Florida Vacation (headache free!) at the end of October. :)

Infertility, Dizziness

About two months ago I was talking to my friend/coworker about this dizziness that I was experiencing for the past few months. She told me she had been coming to see Curry for a problem she has been having, and she was very excited about the results. So, I decided it couldn’t hurt, since every other doctor I went to couldn’t figure it out.

Since then, about 2½ months have past and I can’t believe the results. Yeah! No more dizziness, and I am pregnant. My husband and I couldn’t be more excited. Almost a year ago I had a miscarriage, and since then I have had trouble getting pregnant. Acupuncture really helped, and I couldn’t feel better. So, thank you all for making my acupuncture experience so wonderful!

My life had gotten so out of control with stress, pain, lack of sleep…a whirlpool I couldn’t get out of…until I began acupuncture. My treatments and evaluations helped me identify areas of my life that I could (and needed to) take control of and change for the better. Depression, Anxiety, Digestive Problems, Mobility Problems

I was depressed. Carrying on with upset stomach and intestines, weak and unsteady with fear and anxiety. After seven sessions, I do not feel depressed, with no crying for more than two weeks. I now do exercises every day without feeling sick or tired. I am now getting stronger and can walk around the inside of the house with the aid of a walker without feeling exhausted and ready to collapse. Most important is the feeling of hopelessness which I had prior to coming has gone and I feel healthier and look forward to feeling even better.

Numbness

For years I had a numb spot on my inner ankle – only about an inch in diameter. I didn’t even mention this on my patient forms as I truly forgot about this condition. During my first treatment I felt a swirling energy sensation around that spot. I was amazed to discover, when I came home, that I could actually feel my fingernail on that spot! It’s still very surreal, and I look forward to my new adventure in acupuncture. This science, I believe, can get to the root of any ailment!

Fibromyalgia

After almost eight years of sleep disturbance, pain and resulting depression, I was ready to give up. I went from day to day, praying that I could hold on until my two daughters complete their education. I had worked with internists, neurologists, rheumatologists, and a psychiatrist, along with their associated potent neurological “cocktails,” all without success. At fifty years of age, I was ready to give up. Then I was offered the opportunity to meet with Curry and give acupuncture a try. The turn around was nothing short of amazing. I no longer need to take the pain pills or neurological-chemistry-altering prescriptions in order to function. My energy level is returning rapidly, I am almost pain-free and I sleep normally. Pain, Mobility Problems

My trouble began with a shoulder strain after a rug-lifting incident. After an ortho specialist and cortisone failed, I had a shoulder replacement. Nothing alleviated the intense pain. I consulted five other specialists, had four months of physical therapy—was prescribed heavy pain killers taken daily—plus three spinal epidurals. Nothing helped.

The pain was heavy and constant and sapped my spirit. My children even considered a nursing home. The last doctor said, “Don’t come back until you’ve had spinal surgery.”As a last resort, I came to Curry for acupuncture. I was so weak I couldn’t lift a coffee cup much less have decent range of motion. Pain enveloped me.

Now after 46 treatments, I have range of motion and freedom from pain . A miracle to me, I cannot thank Curry and his great staff enough for their constant evaluation of my problem. Finally, life is tasty again due to their care. —Marion L.

P.M.S., Irregular Menstrual Cycle

For the first time in my life (and I’ll be 40 in April) I am experiencing REGULAR (28/29 day) menstrual cycles! I have never been regular before and AMAZED at this change. Also, I have experienced a steady lessening of PMS problems (bloating, breast tenderness, turning into a psycho-killer, etc) as well. While I am still experiencing some 1st and 2nd day cramps, I can now control the pain with heat application, rather than the handful of ibuprofen I used to have to take. Thank you to Curry, Jori, Carol, and all the AHHA staff for this new gift of good health!

Immunity

I was exposed to the flu three times during the winter, but I was wearing acupuncture tacks on my immune system points on my arms during those months and I never came down with it.
